Primal Funk formed in the summer of 2002. I have long standing friendships with both Kevin Needham (top left) and Chris Watkins (red shirt). Kevin and I were rivals back in high school, and I've known Chris for years. I was very happy to have a chance to play with such great friends and wonderful musicians. Drew Yarborough (bottom left) plays guitar, Levi Haddock (bottom second from right) is the drummer, Kenny Borak (top left) is our trumpet player, and T.J. (not pictured) is the bassist. Primal Funk plays funk cover music from artists ranging from Prince, Average White Band, Stevie Wonder to Stevie Ray Vaughn, Rick James, James Brown and Marvin Gaye.
This was a gig at Fender's club in LaMarque. It's a very nice place located in a outlet mall shopping center. Wierd eh? We love playing there.
Here we are at the Mercury Room downtown. This is a great place to play with a wonderful crowd. The staff there is incredible as well. Ask for bartender Nick!
This was such a fun night at the R&R sports bar. As you can see it was halloween and everyone was in the spirit. I actually dug those 70's threads I was sporting that night.
