Los Skanales is a great ska based band that I played with from 1998 until the summer of 2000. It's hard to imagine, but this was a very cool mix of ska, punk, rockabilly and swing with some bi-lingual Spanish thrown in. Hard to picture but it really works. This lineup consisted of Felipe Galvan singing lead vocals, Jose Rodriguez on Guitar, Jovan Hernandez on Keys, Nick Gaitan on bass, Patrick Kelly on drums, and Jason Bird and myself on alto and tenor saxophone. We did a great 7 week tour in the summer of 2000 that took us all over the country. These guys may have changed a few musicians but they're still playing strong.
This was a gig on the Watcha Tour in 99 (I think). It was at the Cynthia Woods pavilion north of Houston. Fun show and many fights broke out!
